How to Use CaseMapper
Get started with offline location logging in three simple steps. No account registration or configuration required.
Create a Case Folder
Open the app and tap the "+" button to start a new case. Use folders to keep your field surveys, environmental mapping, or research projects cleanly separated.
Capture Geo-Tagged Photos
Walk to the location you want to log, open the built-in camera, and snap a picture. The app automatically locks onto your GPS coordinates and timestamps them offline.
Export & View on Map
Once finished, export your project as a map package. Share it with your team or transfer it to Google Earth on your computer to view all your photo markers instantly.

CaseMapper runs entirely offline. Here is a transparent breakdown of the permissions we require and how we secure your data.
Permissions We Use
Location (GPS Mapping)
Acquires coordinates (latitude, longitude, altitude) only when capturing a point to log field survey location markers. Location data is strictly used for GPS mapping and field documentation.
Camera (Photo & Evidence Capture)
Used only for capturing site photos and evidence directly inside the App to associate them with the recorded spatial data points.
Internet & Network State
Used to load standard map layers, verify updates, and download non-intrusive advertisements served via AdMob services.
Storage / Media Access
Only requested when required by legacy Android versions to write, save, and share your exported KMZ/KML archives in the public downloads folder.
Data Safety & Security
No Sale of User Data
We do not collect or sell user data. Your survey locations, coordinates, photo logs, and case titles are strictly yours and under your direct control.
No Third-Party Sharing
Except for standard monetization integrations (like AdMob) necessary for app upkeep, no coordinate logs or personal information are shared with third parties.
Stored Locally on Device
All database records and compressed media files are hosted in the sandboxed SQLite Room DB of your own Android device. No case data is stored on developer servers.
Secure User Content Handling
User-generated photos and description notes are saved in the app-specific private directory, preventing rogue applications from scanning your project files.

CaseMapper was engineered to address the critical challenges faced by field investigators, environmental researchers, and surveyors working in disconnected regions.
Traditional GIS software requires constant active data connections or bulky licensing. CaseMapper simplifies spatial mapping by packaging point collection, optimized CameraX photography, and metadata tagging into an offline SQLite-backed framework.
The compiled archives comply fully with standard OGC specifications, allowing immediate imports into Google Earth, ArcGIS, QGIS, or other desktop visualization tools.

CaseMapper operates 100% locally on your physical device. We do not maintain any cloud-sync servers, databases, or online backups. If you uninstall this app or reset your device, all logged coordinates, descriptions, and photograph files will be permanently and irreversibly deleted. The developer (Mohsin Khawaja) and CSIB hold no liability for data loss, device failures, or any field inaccuracies caused during navigation or spatial recording.
